This book is a unique study of the great wind storms of the last years that have affected the British Isles and the seas and coasts of northwest Europe. The British Isles were consciously left out as sufficient bibliographical assistance already is available. There is a considerable overlap of coverage, especially with respect to the folk high schools; however, as many sources as possible were included in the bibliography to give access to alternate sources avail-dble locally on the same topic.

Eighteenth-Century Fiction brings together 96 works of English prose from the period – by writers from the British Isles.
